Object Description
Clear glass bottle molded in the shape of a pig standing upright. The piggy bank has a small slit in its red cap labelled "PIGGY BANK" at top of the bottle to drop coins in for safe keeping. The pig is smiling, has wide set eyes, small rounded ears and its arms are molded into its torso and wrap around its back, one hand in the other (human like hands). Its belly protrudes out and over its feet which are stumplike and connected together. The arms, back, sides and legs have an etched, rough pattern. The rest of the pig is clear, see through glass. The belly has three buttons and the feet have little depicted hooves on their front. Overall the pig's characteristics are generic and not specifically depicted in the glass mold.
Origin
This pig as likely used in the previous museum location's store to hold change. Like other piggy banks this pig is designed to securely hold spare change once it is dropped in through the top of the bottle.
