Origin
This is a campaign poster for Michael J. Bakalis. Bakalis is a Greek-American academic and politician. Born in Berwyn, Illinois in 1938, Bakalis received his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees from Northwestern University. He later served on the faculties of Northern Illinois University, Loyal University, and Triton college, and he is currently a member of the faculty at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern. In 1970, Bakalis was elected State Superintendent of Public Instruction for Illinois and served in that capacity until 1975. This poster is from his campaign for that position.
