Object Description
One spat from a pair. Brown wool lined with brown leather on the top, inside bottom, and bottom strap. On the side there are four button holes and four brown plastic buttons. The strap is made of leather and has a silver metal buckle. The inside contains a tag which reads '"Standard" Spats' and a stamp which reads "201 2 8". Includes metal button hook which reads "Standard Spats".
Origin
"Standard" Spats was a brand name under the company S. Rauh & Company which was located in New York. S. Rauh & Company opened sometime before 1890. There is no further information on this company.
