Object Description
Large wool blanket. Mainly orange and yellow in color in large spiraling floral designs. The background is orange, while the design is yellow on one side, with the opposite being true on the other side. The trim has a small amount of green to it and has been stitched with a thick beige thread on the top and bottom, while the side edges have just been cut. There are markings with some kind of ink or something that left an impression and discoloration all over the blanket.
Origin
This design could be described as arabesque, since it uses the same leaf-like pattern that repeats and yet is connected. This art form is prominent in Islamic art and Western art from the Renniassance onward. Arabesques typically depict leaves or stems, in the same template that would be used repeatedly.
