Object Description
Doll is inside of framed case. The frame is a gold wooden frame with floral decorations. The frame is deep enough to hold the doll. The doll is secured on cardboard on the back of the frame. From the head down: This is a female doll. She has light brown hair that is braided with pink ribbons and blue and red beads. She has a veil that goes down to her shoulders. She is wearing black earrings and has blue eyes and red lips. Her arms are at her waist and are made of white plastic. She is wearing a traditional Greek outfit. She has a red vest that is lined with a yellow and green trim. Under the vest she is wearing a white long sleeved shirt that has yellow and green trim and lace trim at the sleeves. At her neck she has a gold trim and a blue bead to resemble a necklace. She is wearing a yellow multi-colored sash at her waist. Her skirt is a dark purple and has thick gold and black embroidery and a lace trim. On top of her skirt there is a light blue apron lined with lace. On the fabric there are red, pink, blue, and yellow flowers with green stems painted. Her legs barely show at the bottom but are made of paper and she is wearing black shoes with white tops.
At the bottom in white ink is written "Greek Costumes" and something in Greek.
Origin
Doll belonged to the donor's father's parents: Irene and Nicholas Jonas.
