Object Description
The fez is blue with gold stitched lettering which reads "GAPA". On one side of the fez, there is a red, white, and blue ribbon. Below "GAPA", there is a metal of the emblem of GAPA. The fez is felt. The inside reads "6 3/4" and a tag reads "Rose Lip Regalia Co.Official regalia house of the GAPA fraternity (approved by the grand lodge) Boston, Massachusetts. (some words are faded and cannot be read).
Origin
GAPA (Greek American Progressive Association) was founded in 1923 and was dedicated to preserving Greek culture in America. These fez hats were worn by members of GAPA during various occasions.
