Object Description
Brown leather handbag. On the front, pieces of leather are flaking off to show an orange-rust color underneath. The leather is slightly textured in a vertical design. The top has a brass type edge and clasp. 5 pearl colored, circular jewels border this edge. Each jewel is surrounded by a wreath-like ornate design. The opposite edge has no ornamentation--just scratches and marks. There are two thin leather straps at the top. The base of the straps appear to be fraying. The interior is a dark green colored leather liner with a pocket on one side. There is a black tag in a top corner that says "Warranted, Genuine Goat".
Origin
Belonged to Bessie Lulias' mother Angeline Trohatos.

Bessie's father owned the Seminary Restaurant and P. Karambalas Confectionary. Bessie's husaband and his brother owned the "LB" (Lulia's Brothers Restaurant). Bessie and husband Sam then moved to Madison, WI, and opened the "Liberty Lunch" counter catering to servicemen.
