Object Description
A plastic case with a folded cardsock piece inside. on the front cover is a print of a religious scene. On the back is printed: Consecration of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church Flint, Michigan Sept. 28, 1986.

Inside is a piece of white linen stamped with the logo of the church. The text: The holy relics placed in teh holy altar of the Assumption Greek Orthodox church are from Saint Justin the Philosopher and Martyr (celebrated June1st), and Saint Panteleimon the Martyr (celebrated July 27th).

Savanon: A white linen garment worn by the celebrant Bishop at the Consecration. The Savanon is put on prior to the washing of the Altar Table. Following the Consecrtion the Savanon is cut into small piees and given to the faithful as a "phylakton" (a blessed object worn by an Orthodox Christian as a protection against evil, or placed in a home Iconostasion)
