Object Description
A printing block for a newspaper header. It consists of a block of wood made of one 7.25" piece in the center, two 1.1875" pieces on either side of the long piece, and two small pieces of wood onthe ends, one 0.3125" and the other 0.1875". Affixed to one of the longest sides of the block is a lead plate with raised lettering reading backwards, "The Greek Star" in Greek, followed by a star symbol, and then the same words in English.
Origin
Used to print newspaper headers by The Greek Star newspaper.

The Greek Star is the oldest continuously published Greek newspaper in the U.S. It began to be published in 1904, and serves as a voice for the Greek community.
