Object Description
Little over knee length, handmade peasant skirt. The waist band is about an inch thick. There is a vertical, multicolored pattern that goes around the entire waist. Starting at the clip/opening of the waist: there is a solid white space followed by a vertical red rectangle, about half an inch thick. Set right next to the red is a green rectangle, same size. Both are bordered with a black line, but within the black line of the red there is also a yellow border resting on the black. There is another white blank space, about half an inch wide followed by a larger brown square. There is a thin red rectagle set in the middle. The square is boarded in black like the colors before. Set to the black border is a yellow line followed by a lighter borwn rectanlge, little less than an inch thick. There are two thin red lines that follow and then another yellow. After is a green rectagle, also a little less than an inch thick followed by four red lines, which have the same green lines in between each. Following is another green rectangle, which is followed by a yellow line and then two more red ones. There is another light brown rectangle after that followed by another thin yellow line. There is another black that rest next to a dark brown square with a thin red rectangle in the middle of it, then closed off by a black line. There is another half inch gap of white before there is another green recangle, borded in blac, which is followed by a red bordered with yellow and another green. This set of three seperate blocks of patter repeats around the waist four more times.

Under the waist is a blank space of white with fifteen pleats in all. Under the white we see the same pattern as the one on the waist band, but the difference is that this pattern runs horizontally around the skirt rather than vertical like the waist. The trim of the skirt is lined with an inch thick strip of white. There are four sets of the pattern in all. The skirt is not lined so the inside looks exactly the same as the outside.
