Object Description
bronze trophy with wooden base. the base is oval shaped with a square platform in the center. On top of the platform is a bowl-shaped fixure of bronze-like metal. It sits atop a column like stem and the bowl itself has two handles. One on either side; rounded and with a wreath at the bottom of each. the top of the bowl fixture is a platform with a sports player wearing shorts, a tank top and sneakers with one arm reaching in the air, holding a ball (though what sort of ball it is is indiscernable). just beneath the platform he stands on are the 5 Olympic rings. On the wooden base, there is a plaque that reads:
"1978 N.H.I.B.T. TOURNEY
COLLEGE DIV.-SPORTSMANSHIP
WILLIAM GOUZAS AWARD
ANDREW FASSEAS"

Hellenism
An important component of AHEPA's mission is to create an awareness of the principles of Hellenism to society. These principles include a commitment to humanity, freedom, and democracy. The preservation and promotion of these ideals is where AHEPA has, and always will be, deeply committed.

AHEPA hosted "Olymiads" in major cities for several decades during the mid to late 20th century. The olympics were open to all athletes of Greek decent from through out the country.
