Greek silver coin:
Obverse: "George, King of the Greeks" written in the greek alphabet surrounds a profile bust of King George
Reverse: "Kingdom of Greece" written in greek around a crown, under which it says "20 leptas, 18_4"
The modern nation of Greece obtained independence from Ottoman Turkey in 1833. It functioned as a monarchy from that year until 1925 and again from 1935-1974. This coin features the bust of the ruler at the time King George I.
