Object Description
Greek silver coin with a hole in the middle:
Obverse: a wreath and a crown are around the center hole, and around that it says "Kingdom of Greece"
Reverse: one half is covered with an olive branch and the other says 20 "lepta"
Origin
The modern nation of Greece obtained independence from Ottoman Turkey in 1833. It functioned as a monarchy from that year until 1925 and again from 1935-1974. Coins from these time periods often feature a crown a part of the design. Today the country is the Hellenic Republic of Greece.
