Origin
George and Spiros Papachristos immigrated to the U.S. from Greece in 1912 at the age of 16 or 17. They went back to Greece in the late 1930's. After WWII they moved to Utah. After living in Utah they moved to Chicago. According to the donor, this watch was owned by Spiros.

Hampden Watch Company was created in 1888 when the Hampden Watch Company merged with the Dueber Watch Casing Manufaturing Company. The production of watches by this company continued until 1927 when it moved its factories to Russia to teach Russian artisans the art of watch making.
