Object Description
Colorful oil painting of a shepherd standing on a rock with six sheep. There is a lake or river in the background as well as a town. The painting is highly textured. Decorative wooden frame with gold paint. Metal I bolt on the back of the frame. Dimensions: 27.375 x 23.438 x 3.25.
Origin
Manos was born in Athens, Greece, in 1927. He died May 11, 1998 at his home in London, Ontario, Canada. He painted Greek seascapes, landscapes, and Greek people. He also painted scenes from Paris, France. Manos attended the Grande Chaumiere Art School in Paris. His work is heavily influenced by his teacher Alfred Dufatrel, an impressionist painter. He exhibited his work throughout Western Europe, Canada, and the United States.
