Object Description
Colorful oil painting depicting a woman threading wool. The painting is highly textured. Framed in a gold painted, decorative wooden frame. Matted with off-white fabric. Dimensions: 28.938 x 24.188 x 2.5. Metal wire hanger on back of frame.
Origin
Manos was born in Athens, Greece, in 1927. He died May 11, 1998 at his home in London, Ontario, Canada. He painted Greek seascapes, landscapes, and Greek people. He also painted scenes from Paris, France. Manos attended the Grande Chaumiere Art School in Paris. His work is heavily influenced by his teacher Alfred Dufatrel, an impressionist painter. He exhibited his work throughout Western Europe, Canada, and the United States.
