Origin
The Northwest Chicago Senior Care Center, also known as the Copernicus Senior Center, was established in 1977. It is the oldest branch of the Senior Services Division of the Chicago Department of Family and Support Services.
It serves 15 Chicago wards. Over 100 senior groups and clubs participate in programs there, and an estimated 10,000 senior citizens and their families are served there each year.
