Biography

Harry Costopoulos was born on Sep 14, 1882 in Aslanaga, Greece and passed away April 25,
1968 after heart problems and suffering from extreme dementia. He and his wife, Vasiliki (Bessie) Grammenos (born April 25 1893 in Kalamata, Greece and passed away June 24, 1984) arrived at Ellis Island, NY in 1926 on the SS Bryon. When they arrived, they moved into the area of Grand and Halsted where other family members were located. They then moved to the area of Lawrence and Rockwell. Harry was a glass-blower and shoe-maker by trade. Harry and Vasiliki had two sons; Epaminondas born in 1927 and Steven born 1928.
