Carantzalis immigrated from Krokees (near Sparta), Greece to Chicago, Illinois in 1896. He owned and ran a candy store on Chicago's South Side at Archer & Western. He’s listed as a confectionaire in the 1917 Lakeside Classified Directory phone book at 3800 South Campbell Avenue.
