This is a box of Fairbank's Gold Dust Washing Powder. The box is bright orange and is encased in a plastic covering. The front of the box has two black figures, "the twins" under the Fairbank's logo, standing in a pile, of what appears to be, coins. On the right side panel, images of the same black figures are used to show the different purposes of the washing poweder like, brightening linoleum, removes bath tub ring, washed dirty work clothes and makes glassware sparkle. On the left side panel, "washes dishes quickly, removes grease easily, brightens woodwork and cleans paint brushes" is shown. The back of the box has "Gold Dust let the twins do your work" written in black, bold type across the back. Below this is a box that describes how to use Gold Dust to perform up to 34 cleaning jobs, with more images and illustrations of the twins in the background.

Letter (2011.7.226)

This is, what seems to be, a letter of some kind written on "Allied Confectioners Association" stationary/paper. At the top of the paper is "Allied Confectionary Association" with Chicago, IL printed underneath it, and "3459 W. 26th St" handwritten in cursive written above Chicago. The paper had been previously folded into eighths, indicated by the folds left on the paper. There is a hole in the middle of the paper. On the paper is a paragraph written in Greek, sometime in June of 1928. Under the body of the letter, is it signed by 12 signatures on the front with an additional 27 signatures on the back, Alex Rassogianis being one of them.

Box, Food Storage (2011.7.231.A)

This is a stack of 3, small, half pint ice cream containers made of cardboard. On the fronts and backs, there is are several blue, parallel lines running vertically down the center of the surface with a graphic of an ice cream dish in a circle with criss crossing lines in the middle of the lines. There are thin, several horizontal lines running behind the image. Towards the bottom is written "Ice Cream," also in blue, with lines running horizontally on the top and bottom of the text. The two sides have the same decorative design, without the text. The top of the containers have four flaps, when folded, that seal the box. There is text indicating patent number and volume of the container on the front and back flaps. The front reads "Contents one half pint, U.S. liquid measure, Approved for Massachusetts M-6" While the back reads: "N.Y. City approved type 109, Serial V-4, Penna. Approved Type No. V-4" The bottom of the lowest crate has a white sticker that says "Pauline Franks" There is a woven string handle attached to the sides of the container.

Box, Candy (2011.7.52)

A small, peach candy box from Alex's Candy Shop. The front reads "Alex's Delicious Candies" along with the address and phone number of the store and the weight of the box in dark blue. All of this is surrounded by a border of concentric squares. The bottom of the box is white.

Box, Candy (2011.7.50)

A large, silvery candy box with a long red bow. There are silhouettes of mistletoes embossed onto the paper. The base of the box is white. The mistletoe design consists of a big mistletoe followed by a smaller mistletoe. Inside, the box is lined with cream colored paper.

Box, Candy (2011.7.49)

A medium sized, red candy box. This box is covered in small Christmas trees and has some slight tearing in its paper.

Box, Candy (2011.7.47)

A medium candy box. This item is yellow and only has "Home Made Candies" written on its face (along with "One Pound Net Weight" in fine print at the bottom). Additionally there is some pinstriping around the words. The top of the box has a slight swirly designs. The bottom of the box is brown.

Box, Candy (2011.7.46)

A medium candy box. This item is a yellow, Easter-themed box covered with rabbits, lambs, chicks, and Easter eggs. Also, the phrase "Easter Greetings" is repeated various times across the box. There are green and purple flowers, as well as easter baskets with eggs in them.

Box, Candy (2011.7.44)

A medium candy box. This item is a Christmas-themed candy box with wrapping paper covered in snowflakes and a large, green bow across its front. There are some frills on the inside but the box does not come with any removable wax paper. The box is white with red and silver snowflakes and silver ribbons. The bottom of the box is white. This candy box is stored in a cardboard box. On the side of the lid, there is black writing that reads "No.X-16-2, Mfg. By Quincy Paper Box Co., Quincy, Ill"

Box, Candy (2011.7.41)

A large, Christmas-themed candy box. This one is in the shape of Santa Claus holding his bag of toys and a wreath of Mistletoe while standing on a rooftop. The bag has white boxes with red bowties, along with a green drum. The roof is covered in snow, and there are brick rectangles on either side. The figure of Santa is wearing a white belt with a green buckle. The back of the box is cut in the same shape. The box itself is red. It is stored in a cardboard box with red writing that says "XMas" as well as black writing that reads "One 1 lb. No. 802"

Box, Candy (2011.7.39)

A small, pink candy box. This box is an Easter item as it has numerous images of Spring animals (and their offspring), flowers and painted eggs across its surface. There are pictures of lambs, bunnies, and children. There are also flowers. The color of the box are pink, white, purple, and green. The bottom of the box is a white color. On each short end of the box, there are marks on either side where the paper had to be cut to be folded.

Box, Candy (2011.7.7)

A red candy box from the candy store. Adorned with diagonal dark striping and a green bow with fake gold mistletoe on the top. The box is Christmas themed and shows little wear. The only evident damage is a stain on part of the bow. The box also contains some of the original wax paper and sheeting. The bottom of the box is silver colored. The box was used to store and sell candy from Alex's Candy Shop.
