A small plate, probably for desert or for tea/coffee, from Raklios restaraunt. This restaurant was one of the first Greek restaurants established in the city of Chicago, making this a rather impressive item. The plate is white with an ornate, green border rimming its edges. At the top of this border it says "Raklios." On the reverse side the plate reads Shenango China, New Castle, PA.

Theresa Sam Tzakis donated a number of items including a small record collection. While the records are not included in the catalogue, they are accompanied by various other items (almost all of which were replicas).

Theresa also donated a plate from Raklios restaurant on Route 66 in Chicago. This restaurant became rather famous and would later be the origin of over 20 similar establishments. The Raklios chain flourished until the depression hit, at which point it came to crashing halt. Still, the Raklios of Chicago will be remembered as the origin of this small dynasty and further as one of the first Greek restuarants to open in the city. Needless to say a donation that includes any of Raklios' history is a significant one.
